Efo Riro is a rich vegetable soup that is widely prepared among the Yorubas. The vegetables that can be used to cook this soup is Efo shoko(Green Amaranth). If this is not available you can simply use spinach.

Bitter leaf soup is very popular in Eastern Nigeria. The name bitter leaf soup can discourage you from eating it. This is not the case as the traces of bitterness is removed by squeezing and washing the leaves several times.

Miyan Kuka

This soup is made from baobab leaves. It is mostly eaten in Northern Nigeria. Hence, when you find yourself in that region, make sure you have a plate of Miyan Kuka with Tuwo Shinkafa (mashed rice).

Abak Atama

Abak Atama Soup is a delicious soup popular amongst the Ibibios of Akwa Ibom. The name is derived from the two main ingredients- Palm Fruit Concentrate (Abak) and Atama Leaves.

Olori Wuraola's Bride Price Returned by Ooni of Ife

According to TheBossNewspaper, the former wife of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Wuraola can remarry if she wishes, as the customary bride price paid by the revered monarch was returned fully from the elders of Queen Zynab’s Family in Benin City.

According to a source in Benin, the Ooni was initially reluctant to collect the bride price, but was persuaded by the Elders as a way of closing the controversial marriage and separation.

“She’s free now, she’s free…,” the Ooni was quoted to have exclaimed afterwards.

The Elders had sued for amicable settlement instead of a rough separation. Both families appeared relieved about this final foreclosure of the marriage that lasted less than two years.

According to a Yoruba source, it was imperative that the bride price be returned even as it is just a token, adding that it holds significant value and meaningful according to tradition.

“When a bride price is returned, the man no longer have ties or right over the woman in question, and they can only see themselves afterwards as friends if they so desire,” the Yoruba source said.

IOC Names 2024 and 2028 Olympic Hosts

International Olympic Committee, IOC, has named the host nation for both the 2024 and 2028 Olympic games.

The committee crowned two cities for the first time ever, naming Paris as the host nation for the 2024 Olympic games and Los Angeles for the 2028 power packed sports showdown, on Wednesday.

Paris, which unsuccessfully bid for the Olympics in 1992, 2008 and 2012 will organise the Games in seven years’ time and the Californian city will welcome them four years later in what IOC President Thomas Bach called a “win-win-win” situation.

Serena Williams Reveals Pregnancy Details, Daughter's Name, Social Media Handle (photos)

Popular tennis maestro and grand slam winner, Serena Williams and fiance/Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, took their time, in revealing the name of their first daughter.

In line with revealing the name, the couple also made a compilation video of the baby’s journey from pregnancy to birth. 

Baby Alexis Jr Olympia Ohanian has already been introduced to Instagram with over 10,000 followers.

Yung6ix Humbly Accepts Defeat Against Akpororo

Singer Yung6ix, has finally recalled himself, as he humbly admitted to overacting to Akpororo’s joke about him.

The whole feud, started off after the stand up comedian, subtly made jest of the musicians lavish lifestyle, comparing it to his career.

The singer, reacted immediately, showing his dissatisfaction to the joke, before his DJ, DJ Timmy, took up the whole matter, attacking not only the comedian, but his wife also. Get the full gist here.

At first when everybody started….I didn’t get to see the full joke. But when I got to see it, I realized it was a joke. Its all entertainment. So no feelings/emotions attached. I knew it was a joke.

He is my Delta brother and I respect him and his talent, but I wouldn’t even joke or make jokes about anything that would make people feel indifferent about their success.

Mr Eazi Shares His Struggle Story

Nigeria/Ghanian Singer, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known by his career name, Mr Eazi, has revealed the hurdles he scaled through, making it to the top.

The 26-years-old, who’s currently the talk of the media, after his controversial remark on the impact of Ghanian music on Nigeria, disclosed he ended up in computer village after acquiring his master’s degree.

He wrote;

“After I came back from Ghana, I got a job in oil and gas in Port Harcourt that paid about six thousand dollars per month but I quit because I was not finding fulfillment in it.
I mean it was the same thing everyday, the same routine over and over again. The decision to quit the job finally hit me when my boss’ wife left him even with all the money he had.
After I left my job, I got my Masters degree and with all that qualification I started selling phones in computer village and everyone thought something was wrong with me.
Even my mother started praying special prayers for me but my father didn’t add that final voice that would have decided my fate. My break finally came after I got an invite to do two shows in London that made me twelve thousand pounds which I used to shoot two videos.
When I told my mother what I did with the money she stopped talking to me for about three weeks. I had to move in with a friend because even my relatives didn’t want me around but everything finally changed when I went back to London for shows that fetched me really good money.”

Ghanian Actress Launches Go Pantless Campaign for Ladies

Ghanian actress, Baby Blanche, has launched a campaign to stop ladies from putting on panties.

The campaign tagged ‘Operation Remove Your Dross’, which is targeted at helping save the lives of women, was launched on Saturday, September 9 at a press conference held in Accra.

When speaking with Nana Qwame Larbi of Hitz FM, Baby Blanche explained the initiative as;

“The whole initiative is to help ladies free themselves from infections which most ladies suffer as a result of wearing panties. I have practiced it and it has helped me. I also want to impact this same practice onto others.

“I can’t preach about going ‘pantiless’ and contradict myself by wearing them. I am not wearing Panties as I speak to you.”

“As an advocate of going pantieless, have lived in the last seven years without panties and have never incurred the wrath of the bacterium at my vital area in relation to any infection. I join the online physician Dr Mehmet Oz, who counsels it is time to go natural because we don’t want down there to get moist.

Actress Ufuoma McDermott Looses Brother

A popular face in the Nollywood industry, Ufuoma McDermott has lost her brother, Eseoghene.

The actress took to her Instagram to share the sad news with her fans.

According to her, the brother on September 11th lost his battle with kidney failure.

“No questions asked oh Lord. I don’t understand it but I trust you. My picture hating brother; Uvie Eseoghene Ejenobor passed away on 9/11 2017.
I wish I could blame someone or something but it was simply his time.
Thank you for your prayers and concern. He has gone to be with the Lord.
He fought. He fought hard but the pains were stronger. He gasped with every strength thinking his kidneys would respond, but it pleased God to ease his suffering. Like a true Son of a champ he passed as he was strapped to the dialysis machine committing his soul to his maker.
We have cried. We have wailed. We pray for peace and strength at this time. We pray for an extra covering of grace. Grace to carry this burden”.
